I’d been thinking about getting into homebrewing again.
I was looking around to see what was available in the area; I’d moved since I last brewed. Is there a local homebrew shop? Are there any homebrewing clubs?
Yes, and Yes! But the homebrew club seemed to be exclusive to Facebook which I don’t use.
“Maybe I should start my own home brewing club”, the evil demons in my head, who think I have unlimited time, unlimited capability, and unlimited patience, said.
My club would need a domain.
This one seemed clever at the time.
It was cheap.
Here we are.
More than just a homonymish #
I recently moved to New Bern, North Carolina. You should know we have a bit of bear fetish around here. We were named after and a sister city to Bern, Switzerland. The story goes, the founder of Bern, Switzerland said they would name the city after the first animal they encountered on a hunt which turned out to be a bear! Filtered through some fuzzy etymological hand-waving ‘Bern’ means ‘bear’. And to make the full connection ‘bruin’ also means ‘bear’.

So where are the details on the Home Bruin’ club?
